i agree with it under the idea that its for meta in the same way as described below although i dont think meta should even be included along side map related tags (except tourament customs like moonpoint said)
Yeahh first point is a good point. Though I don't entirely follow the second point; I think it would provide context in a similar way that tags like the download unavailable & featured artist tags currently do as meta information.

This is something much more fitting for a list -- seeing "spotlight" makes me want more detail that isn't available in descriptors (which season? who selected it?).
It's also a pretty arbitrary grouping which doesn't say anything about the map content and context, for example "tournament custom" and "mapping contest" describe why a map exists and why it might be the way it is.
Informational tag like the featured artist tag and whatnot. Wouldn't hurt to have it I don't think.
