i wanna give a proper followup reply to these at some point but i really do appreciate the feedback and the thoughts posted here. again i didn't really mean to want pity points or talk about how bad i am or anything like that, the goal here was more of a positive one and just to showcase how i view improvement on mapping in a general sense.
but i genuinely will be taking all of these into consideration, especially melloe and kataryn's comments on valuing your own identity, which is something i neglected in the past, learned how to do it for a while (which is how KNOWER - Overtime (Live Band Session) (Froslass) came to exist) and then somehow that ended up being lost at some point again.
in the end i'm aware that simplicity isn't inherently a bad thing, but i feel like there's a net positive in striving for a more diverse set of mapping skills. as i mentioned in the review i won't really do that if it means mapping isn't fun for me anymore, so thankfully it's been a good journey so far
oh i mean i guess the wall of text ended up looking much more negative than it should've been lol but ultimately i'm quite okay with how things are. i hold high standards upon myself because i feel like i'm stagnating if i don't. i'm genuinely fine with the niche i've achieved and i know there are people who enjoy my stuff so that's more than enough for me. i like mapping and i have a much more positive outlook on my creations than i used to, it's just that i feel i'm still far from creating something truly great for me and imo that's more of a motivation to keep going rather than a bad thing

the map feels like i was trying to go for simplicity which is bland but ok and then it just throws wacky rhythm in the player's face for "better song representation" and makes it kind of a chore to play when you just wanna chill with the song
dadaism is a rather difficult idea to apply in any field without it seeming either pretentious or cheaply/amateurish executed so i respect the attempt having actual effort put into it
may not be anything more than a very simple map but i wanted to map this exactly like it is since 2012 and never had the skills to pull the execution off. so i'm very proud of it
coming from a person who just got done playing like 3 sytho maps in a row and felt they were more interesting/representative of the song i swear this isn't supposed to be just a dunk on flow aim metal mapping in general but i really feel like this map could have been done in any other song
i'm sorry. i'm generally not one to bash on "generic" type maps but this one just felt so one dimensional i was genuinely shocked to see this came out unscathed from a possible veto/drama sort of situation. maybe it's because i feel blind guardian kinda deserves better than most power metal bands but yeah this one just feels mindnumbing to play

some spots where it really shines but idk how to execute this in a cleaner way. wish i could get this ranked
it's quite amateurish at some points but it's fun enough for me to play over and over
really fun with dt i think i kinda hit the spot on this one in terms of ar8 finger control that's not too deep or silly
