KOTOKO - Wing my Way by Nekomiya Nono

I'm super overthinking it but this really feels like such a product of its time. I don't know if anyone could intentionally make a map that feels like this one right now with all that we've "learned" collectively about mapping since without it feeling artificial. I think that's part of why a lot of old maps click with me, but this one in particular really exemplifies that feeling.

this is kind of a bell curve map where it has this strange "epic old map adamqs 3mod stonehenge wtf" aura to new players, but at some point that wears off and you're like this is just a mid old map it's so overrated. but then you come back around bc wait this map is actually so epic what on earth was v2b even doing. I fced this a while ago and playing it again recently I was shocked by how crazy some of the choices are that I just didn't remember at all but it's awesome imo

i thought this map was crazy overrated on here but after dumping like 200 attempts into an HDDT fc I now understand it

overrated

the only pattern i can ever remember whenever i listen to this song is the double spinner when she sings "tatoeba"

Obviously recognisable due to Adamqs' most famous play, but v2b push alt maps to an another level. The kiai's patterns and the song are perfectly matching, and the flow of the chorus is very clean. However, I don't feel like a 10 to me because of some patterns that didn't aged very well, especially in the beginning of the map.

this is yet another "specialty" map on the chart after BASARA, and i like this map for similar reasons. v2b decides not to follow the music strictly, but to create an experience of cruising along with it, which in my opinion is done quite successfully. though i believe that was done better on Byakuya Gentou, this map is not to be ruled out still.

This is only fun with dt which makes it good I think
