denying for now but seems promising for another go at some point
given some maps are famous for their sliderstreams I think this makes a lot of sense (DJPop comes to mind ofc)
Sliderstreams are different from streams and bursts, just as streams and bursts are from each other. So I think it would be nice to add this
need some more opinions on this before i decide what to do
sure, although im not completely sure what i wanna do with this descriptor as a whole
Should probably make the descriptor name a plural to be consistent with other descriptor names
Nah for that we need funny jumpscare descriptor
dorchadas-slider descriptor when
Basically what knightc0re said, too specific and of little importance in contrast with the rest of the map
ill revise the description to be more firm in a few days to hopefully be slightly more broad but not overly (the other example map i linked is 1/6 as sliders). cant do much rn availability wise
ok back from work time to catch up (i wish i wrote this descriptor on my off days)
@totallywaffles i like the first half of the description but the "with sliderends on the empty 1/8 ticks" is somewhat redundant to me. mainly cause 1/4 rhythm and 1/8 kicksliders imply that already. maybe I could merge it with the "often requiring tight tapping precision." or leave it with only the first half, not sure.
@moonpoint @totallywaffles I think i agree with waffles here cause although slider streams are associated with tech maps, theres a few instances of maps not necessarily tech but still use this type of emphasis Meramipop - Rakujitsu Romance (Loneight) (the kiais).
The stronger reason i have is that a main focus of this descriptor would be the tapping input (parent of streams) due to its tight accuracy precision than the movement itself. the tech children (slider tech, complex sv) is movement favored anyway.
i wonder if i should rename this to proposal sliderburst and put this as a child under the bursts descriptor actually
@knightc0re the closest descriptor i can think of that may not have an presence for a whole map would be cutstreams but when comparing this idea and cutstream, cutstreams have a way more notable presence yeah. im mostly suggesting this descriptor to (possibly) highlight maps that use this type of emphasis. it may be too associated with tech maps though
agree w knightc0re theres like 10 other patterns that would make more sense as a descriptor and i dont know of any of them deserve to
disagree with changing it to tech because it is a stream its in the name
lgtm w changes below
feel like slider streams are never really a focus in a map, just in really tiny sections, so not sure how widely applicable it is, not entirely against it tho
although the term contains the word "stream", i feel like this would be better put as a child of "tech"
How about "Consecutive 1/8 kicksliders that create an active 1/4 rhythm with sliderends on the empty 1/8 ticks."
better desc ideas would be appreciated, i kinda typed it lazily
sliderstreams are a buzzword I hear semi(?)-frequently. I think itd be nice for a descriptor to exist highlighting maps that use these type of bursts
