this map makes me want to kill myself (doesnt mean the map is bad)
evil map but cool anyways to play for me
the grind is fun
i had never seen the entire map before cuz i always quit out because od is infuriating
fanzhen diff is incredibly rewarding if you put the time in to learn it imo
kinda agree, also it's definitely not hitsounded properly
idk how to feel about this fanzhen diff... every object is placed with very specific intent and it's a really unique and bizarre gameplay experience but at the same time I just want to play osu
ur mad fanzhen diff solos
Omar u are a nerd i love u
i'd like my diff on this a lot more if i had made it cs6 tbh
fanzhen creates a masterpiece part 13
fanzhen is love fanzhen is life
unfathomable gap
fanzhen's diff wtf
playing this reminds me to some extent of fanzhen's diff here Rabpit - Saika (Jycool)
this is the 100 gecs of omdb
low ar od10 goes hard af, drum vs. guitar snapping is infuriating, overall epic map [fanzhen]
New copypasta just dropped
This will be the only serious review/comment I write.
This map is probably the most love hate relationship I have with any other map in this game, absolutely everything about this map is something I both love and despise. I put a 5 in this because with the current way this map is done, there is absolutely nothing to change; however, I would definitely change ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING with how this map is done entirely at the same time. In fact, I have no idea if any of this was fanzhen's intent with this map, but this is what I extrapolate from the map. Let me touch on 2 points and their 2 subpoints
First off this is probably the closest execution to attempt to do anything that BASARA ( Daisuke Achiwa - BASARA (100pa-)) strived for. Those 2 key points being:
- Not having direct rhythmic correlation between the map being created and the song being used, key points that exemplify this are the kiais of course 00:33:208 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - but also outside of the kiais 01:19:161 (1) - this is quite self explanatory because it's simply using rhythm that either does not exist, or is not (actively) covering everything (over/undermapping, cry about it those)
- Creating a universally different experience than what osu! actually has to offer. Throw away everything you know regarding how to play this game because just like BASARA, this attempts to provide gameplay experience that first is not theoretically possible by osu!, but second is also not be possible if it was outside of osu!
You will not be able to provide impact to things the same way this map does in any other map, as in copypasting things will not work. 00:33:208 (1,2,3,4) - Doing this contextually in any other map will be absolutely impossible. You would need the entire exact setup this map has to come to it. The song itself also has a VERY KEY component in doing this as well. In essence, doing the same exact pattern in a different map will not yield nearly the same results.
To continue on that 00:33:208 (1,2,3,4) - reference example, you can definitely make something that looks exactly like this work in an osu! beatmap, but that will provide a completely different effect. This can be said for 00:16:542 - and 00:51:542 - and 01:00:827 -
You can definitely create maps that are HEAVILY inspired by this map, but those will not provide the experience this does.
It would require similar means of overmapping.
It would require similar means of undermapping.
It would require similar levels of pattern evolutions.
It would require similar focuses on impact.
It would require similar focuses on METHODS of impact.
Second off (this is more precedent than the actual map), this is POSSIBLY the only map that TRIES to make it very apparent and generous that retrying is a Key Feature to the map. There are many users that think "readability" is something that mappers should NOT concern themselves with, since players can improve by "just retrying" to read anything. If you are one of those people, you will generally have a bad time getting people to retry in the first place. Players would SOLELY be retrying for score/PP because you have immediately came out of the gates antagonizing their experience, and that is it. They will ignore any intricacies and compelling arrangements you have attempted to provide into the beatmap. Do you really want to be such a mapper?
This map on the other hand ATTEMPTS to subjugate this issue. Unlike the majority of maps with very faulty game design for the sake of providing catharsis (whether visual, rhythmically, or by spacing), this map attempts to not disregard the aspect of first experiences that many maps do.
Now this will sound completely contrary to what I want to say, but I was absolutely livid by this beatmap's existence at first. In fact, I solely played this only for the funny score (I mean just look at its leaderboard LMFAO like 2 people want to play this)
HOWEVER, I do not think this was an issue with the map for this case. I think this was solely the fact that this map's placement as a lower insane difficulty for a set that people are going to go to because epic anime song are going to COMPLETELY unexpect a beatmap that attempts to build retrying into its definition. It becomes VERY APPARENT that the point of this beatmap is that you will retry. You must retry. Everything is something you will retry for.
This map is entirely different from those, this is MUCH more similar to ones that are great at first, and then with subtleties you find later blow your mind.
But why is that different from other maps? Well, the gist of that is simple because this map ENTIRELY is built on that. Other beatmaps do not build ENTIRELY on that. Other beatmaps in essence go "it is what it is" when there is something the beatmap wants to do but does not even consider itself. When playing this, THE WHOLE ENTIRE POINT is that you will now go back and learn the next step of the beatmap. You are unlocking the next section. You are not unlocking anything in a beatmap that just lets the song chain it by the throat, and ignore anything about how playing any game ever works.
When I first found this map it was in a multi and someone just booted this up. We got like 30 seconds into the map before i quit out and left the lobby. For the next 3 days after that I was absolutely pissed about this map that I played it constantly until I FC'd it, and not just FC, but also FC in multiple mod combinations. I know this map like the back of my hand.
Mikazuki is either a 0 or a 5 for me. No in-between. Most people may think its ok/good (2-4/5) but I think in that case the point that I see to this map is entirely missed. Those 2 points are 99% of this map for me.
If you somehow read all of that then that's pretty cool hey :3
I ain't reading all that
happy for u tho, or sorry that happened
fanzhen diff gave me testicular torsion
cant tell if this map (fanzhen's) is a perfect 5 or a flop 0
