Prime newgen R3m in action. good stuff. and the map that pushed R3m into stardom to be in more massive mapping projects/tournaments rather than solo sets/marathon. or i'd like to call the current - (tiebreaker/nm4 slave arc)
i cant say much. the tity/9ami inspo is strong with this, regardless, this still had its fair share of moments in the spotlight with how it managed to attract a lot of newgen R3m fans that prefer this more techy style of his. since this is where the long flowy dynamic takes centre stage, rather than the short bursty visual approach. which is not my taste.
one of the weaker R3m sets, unfortunately. patterns are mouch more free-formed & not as organized as Kroytz. i can see the last minute pattern remap is a lot of the part. not to mention he's COMING right off the FIRE of his masterpiece & magnum opus at that time - VVelcome which made my expectation a lot higher than usual. made even worse with the fact that the next ranked set after this is AUREOLE TRIUMPH which is also one of the most influential maps in terms of High starred maps. which just makes this rly awkward to see in terms of R3m's map catalogue
blacksheep of R3m maps imo. ive had this map ever since R3m was only one of the few GD's on it along with Atri's. and i'm sorry 2019/2020 R3m just isn't ready to reach double digits of star ratings yet. let alone on a song where you had to map 366BPM jumps. rough patterns. stiff overall structure. and the good part is ONLY at the kiai.
Godfather Part 2 of effort kroytz clone map. VVelcome already managed to blow me out of the water with its structuring. But this just manages to put it to a whole new level. While aureole triumph before this is also similar with its theming its more visually condensed and squished to fit with the speed gimmick of Aimcup 1 which indirectly messes up the careful planning and consistent spaced and nature of Kroytz maps themselves. BUT THIS. THIS IS AN ACTUAL KROYTZ CLONE MAP. EVERY object HAD a purposed with their PLACEMENT and HAVE CONNECTION to EACH OTHER just like HOW KROYTZ intended if he were to map this. Job well done.
Again, imo, this is where R3m started to shift toward the more dynamic tity/9ami aesthetic. and power to them, this new era of R3m produced a lot of bangers too. but this map just feels so forgettable. i managed to recall only ONE pattern. and its CARRIED by the heavenly violin note
One of the last few classic R3m maps that still contain noticeable Kroytz inspo. and the final evolution of the newgen kroytz mapping before transitioning into more tity/9ami mapping arrangement. feels just right enough for this to be the final & most recent high starred kroytz clone set.
granted its a first ranked, its expected the symmetry & blanketing of objects felt forced and sometimes the pattern transition is non-existent, but for a first-ranked? this is one of if not the most significant map that made the whole "effort kroytz clone" genre of map mainstream
peak classic R3m in terms of mapping. The polishness & own personality shine great with the set, but the soulful homage to kroytz is still present and doesn't get overshadowed
