elvis maps use red nodes. pretty sure this descriptor isnt intended for those so it wouldnt make sense for it to be called "red nodes"

this is definitely a common type of aesthetic used across a few maps, but i think the "angular" title is misleading because that can refer to jumps. if it were called "rough sliders" or smth similar i'd probably say yes.
rather than focusing on the acute shaped slidershapes themselves i think what makes those three mappers' cs5 style so iconic is their ability to create a good (vague term i know but yeah) composition of a variation of curved and acute shapes
