storyboarded gameplay
let's remove the joining hyphen for stylization and get this in i'd say
changed the parent descriptor to storyboard, but im going to have to agree with deca about storyboard gimmick being a better name
hot dog
disagree, i think storyboard gimmick is better and immediately more understandable: what the hell is a gameplay storyboard?
also, putting two words together changing their meaning entirely has been a feature of the English language since forever (see: hot dog)
commas exist and people are not that dumb to be unable to distinguish between "storyboard, gimmick" and "storyboard gimmick"
agree with apollo, it'd be better to rename "storyboard-gimmick" to "gameplay storyboard"
if this is to be accepted (which is looking likely so far) then i have some nitpicks to make
- this current name is unacceptable since it's two existing descriptor names together. "gameplay storyboard" would immediately be better
- move parent descriptor to storyboard for now (when i eventually add related/multi-parent descriptor support, it should definitely have both gimmick and storyboard parents)
Agreed, there's a difference between the hollow wings gimmick maps that have storyboards that you currently get when you search the two descriptors together, and maps that rely on the storyboard for their gimmicks (i.e Mr HeliX maps)
finally! a good descriptor! i fully agree with NixXSkate about this, a gimmicky map with a storyboard ≠ storyboard gimmick
I personally prefer 1 accurate descriptor over 2 broad descriptors, because having both the tags storyboard and gimmick doesn't accurately convey that the gimmick is because of the storyboard. Similar to when I commented that a map tagged with stamina and streams doesn't always mean that the map has a deathstream.
same with apollo just put those 2 tags together and move on
not sure if this achieves anything different from what happens when "storyboard" and "gimmick" are when put together already
For maps like /s/1485845 , to differentiate maps like these from maps that have a background storybaord
