players have liked simple maps since the start of the game and before u actually had good simple maps bcs people actually cared to follow the song and provide an actual engaging playing experience (see cryo, xsrs, laurier, etc)

nowadays simple maps just feel like anime music aimlabs which is just lame

u see theres simple maps and then theres 𝓼𝓲𝓶𝓹𝓵𝓮 maps (this is the latter)

I always ask myself what players yearned for before similar type “simple” mapping got pushed out from factory since I started playing before so many maps like this were being ranked and like what went wrong for a large majority of the player base (and mappers) to not be receptive to anything other than simpler representations and then I stop myself from thinking because me thinking about it won’t find the cure to diabetes or AIDS or like reverse the curse of painful pregnancy that God gave to women

players will always yearn for this and you cant do anything about it

just had this great idea to push the overton window until we could get the most optimized lowest effort possible accepted in the shortest amount of time im sure this wont noticably change both player and mapper expectations for the worse in the foreseeable future

idc that its simple but it would be so much more acceptable if there was even a shred of contrast in this map

not sure i understand 0 bombing this (even if i'm not into it) but we need a new, more specific word to describe maps like this, "simple" is way too broad to ever make this statement (see: simple descriptor)
