ok yeah i see ur point for sure. its like the right parts of the song were chosen but its executed too much or too little - i think these 01:49:136 (2,3,4,1) - 02:59:380 (5,6,7,1) - are also pretty bad culprits of it

its obviously a quintessential elvis map tho and like this style would get to influence most of the 2018-19 mapping meta Alongside the stuff elvis also did under his Jounzan name

but i cant stop feeling like its a bit overrated and more visual oriented than stuff like Nageki no Mori or Ryokugan which are just better maps to me and some of the top maps in the game ever for me

some of these jumps are bigger than the entirety of the choruses, also considering that the jumps happen after slow sv sliders they feel like even bigger spikes

i mean u can clearly see and feel while playing that map uses most of its difficulty budget in the 1st kiai and the slow part after to the point where most choruses and the guitar solo just starts feeling too easy and it just becomes a "do you vibe to this song" type of map

oh also the visuals are very executed particularily with focal points and good pattern differentiation/contrast and rotational symmetry yada yada u get it

why i like this map is that it can do bullshit like this 01:08:770 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3) - and it can work because theres a good understanding of tension vs release u just stall to build tension and then release at key moment (end of chord progression or smth like dat) and it feels great to play

why this isnt a 5 for me is bcz it isnt doing so much more other than that i think this is also why im not too fond of childish killer either though that one also feels more dull for me in general idk y

^confused by this statement i always felt the exact opposite this map is very patient to wait until the most meaningful moments in the song rather than emphasizing one off vocals that r like just passing by

i think that is probably because almost all of the difficulty is on the giant jumps at the start

it's a fun map that doesn't feel as hard as other 6.4* maps

i kinda flipped opinions on this map. Whether bcus of its alt-heavy nature, or bcus elvis is just Elvis, this map doesnt bore you despite the clear REALLY repetitive nature of the song (why is everything 1/2 in this song...)

all that said, this never was the peak elvis experience for me, and probably never will be. I also think half of the map's appeal comes from the song being rly good (despite its lackluster mappability)

honestly its +0.5 coz he actually got something out of the song its kinda boring otherwise

absolutely peak mid-2010s elvis, just an all around satisfying experience where patterns kinda pop out at you.

this being #1 just proves how highly regarded elvis is in the mapping community
