did you know:
someone named a songs compilation with popular osu songs after re:call, and not only did they not include this song, all they compiled are big pp map songs
1. With no guarantee for support of AR10+ it's not worth waiting tbh, plus lazer has difficulty adjust and is days/weeks away from pp being integrated now is the next best time to rank tbh
2. Blacklisted just in time for Hawatari Nioku Centi, unblacklisted just in time for Xeroa, nice
3. This section on Kawa's diff though holy 00:51:065 -
So this map was kinda born out of the whole "don't let them fool you, this is what you're really playing" meme, and I wanted to make something really focused on implied slider movement. So the main inspos actually came from milr's Haryu (slider movement) and Uberzolik's Simurgh no Mezame (freeform streams) or at least an older unnerfed version of it.
Most of the map is actually very comfy flow aim, but the chorus uses some uncomfortable patterns, like doubles that snaps back towards the previous objects, or short sliders facing opposite direction of next objects. I think following slider movement in this map really elevates it.
This was supposed to be my toxic edgy masterpiece until I immediately realized the world has already moved on and this map is not that spicy anymore.
Looking at the map in the editor I thought the map is gonna age really poorly, but the patterns honestly feels way less awkward than I remembered. I also took inspo from a lot of maps and they hit the mark pretty well.
the start of my taiko conquest
This map does an adequate job at representing the song, it's just a bit plagued by 2020 me absolutely hating sharp angles and forcing the jumps to be more uncomfortable. The cut streams are also not ideal. Though I think I achieved what I set out to do.
3/5 i would probably like it more now if it was more flow aim instead
This map is surprisingly decent to play even though I threw in quite a bit of uncomfortable things, but I think they got balanced out by the large circles.
But because it's actually playable I appreciate it a lot more than I used to. The small instances of neat playfield usage is also nice, separating patterns on the left and right.
4/5 hard carried by hitsounds
also people really like the hard diff idk why lol
Everything in this map is so deliberate I'm still shocked that 2019 me can produce something like this.
The playfield usage is really nice. Gradual shifts from 1 side to the opposite, object repetitions in the intro and outro, restricting the objects to the centre 1/3 during the verses and jumping out on the strong hits; I'm still proud of these concepts.
just reuse my joke on deconstruction star
this map is so straight
my laptop keycap fell off while playing i think thats a sign
i like this anime https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GHvKlYVXEAAN4iH.jpg

i was thinking where i got my swing movement inspiration from, while i don't think i had any direct inspirations, this map is the closest thing to it
this went from "ok haha i get why this is controversial" to "huh right i kinda get it" to "oh damn this really fits the song well"
the visual gimmick made the movement kinda flopped, but celektus is good at balancing them out now

@martyr mystery probably just evolution in mapping rendering a straightforward designed stream map like this not that impressive anymore
