late but added, made the changes i saw as required
i might take creative liberty here and make the required changes myself to get this through, would be better than staying in stasis
agreed
as someone who was around when ninja spinners were a thing, this should just be defined as spinners that are quick enough to be noticeable during gameplay. trying to come up with an objective definition, especially after the 2018ish patch, is kinda useless
the current proposal cannot go ahead in this state. this needs rethinking
I don't like the description, and it doesn't even make sense in the current build. The point of ninja spinners was to be spinners that were short and appeared fast because of it, that made you react fast or memorize them, usually throwing you off. Unfortunately for us spinner enjoyers, they're much easier now, but even in the old build, there were plenty of maps with ninja spinners that were possible to SS. Examples: /s/2093 /s/1301
Personally I think if AIMod detects that a spinner is too short it should countI just realised that maps like Silver Forest - Tsurupettan (Game Ver.) (Bloxi) [Deppy's Secret Extra] could count for this without tripping AIMod since the whole point is spinners throwing the aim of the player off intentionally but idkwas gonna say that it was pointless to specify maps with ninja spinners like the ones in Echo's WiW, but then i realised what you all meant. i fully agree with fluxie, tho ig for maps with previously impossible to SS ninja spinners, this descriptor can still be used since there are very few special cases that have the original ninja spinners. don't know tho
thats very true. current definition would disallow super short spinners despite them being the original definition of ninja spinners
My problem is that maps like Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Wizards In Winter (Echo) used to be impossible to complete due to their shortness (auto could only get 100 on them iirc) but now because of their shortness you don't even need click and hold to get 300 on them. Idk
hilarious
i second that the standard should be whether auto can 300, whether that’s present auto or pre-2019 auto, i’m not really sure what the difference is, but i don’t think i would call the spinners on Hatsune Miku - THIS IS SPARTAAA!!! (James) to be ninja spinners in the same vein as something like Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Wizards In Winter (Echo)
essentially i don’t think the spinners being difficult to 300 makes it a ninja spinner, as “difficult” is more subjective, whereas auto is something we can actually look at somewhat objectively
hell yea. i think this should be expanded to include maps that *are* fcable but just extremely difficult tho like Silver Forest - Tsurupettan (Game Ver.) (Bloxi) or Hatsune Miku - THIS IS SPARTAAA!!! (James)
i think further discussion is needed when we define "too short", do we go by pre-2019 auto getting less than a 300 on the spinner or the RC specification
need to know which maps have the jumpscare
