downpour proposal
Forum > mapping
hi guys my hot take after letting things cool down and checking bit (i've genuinely been busy irl, i cooked for a fun little dinner party with osu irls and had quite a bit to do in my coursework) is that I think there's valid concerns raised but this proposal took like 12 hours of work over 2 weeks and while I think there's ultimately good suggestions for adaptation it might take me a while to fully consider all the angles that have been raised (shout-out Deviouspanda I didn't think about that too much and probably should actually lay out the goals of the test reintroduction to address it) but eventually I will try to iterate something better. Generally though, while I do agree that it's definitely somewhat risky, my opinion is that I think this system would be better than what we currently have despite it's flaws. With adjustment it might be less flawed and a clear upgrade to more people, which is my hope. Not sure if even a clear upgrade would ever actually get implemented though, it mostly does feel like a road to implementation is likely not traversable at the moment. My hope is less that an improved iteration would be implemented now and more that I hope the nat keep considering it for years to come and perhaps one day there will be the momentum for a change.
also Chinese was advised by Alty and the osu mapping QQ and French was handled by yumerios :)
and then those new bns becomes miserable and doesnt want to be bn anymore and the cycle continues 💀
there were probably incentives outlined in the thing and i really should read it but... i dont wanna 😠i'm real lazy ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ (ok fine i'll read it eventually)
fr tho the thing with current bns is there isnt much perk really, other than maybe se notoriety to your name and *cough cough* b4b *cough cough*
enon has address this a bit https://x.com/enonone522/status/2051727808716845379?a=IiA6f40UhfYCH06er2A&s=20 but basically if you dont participate in """circlejerk""" and it sucks out all of your time then the bn experience is kinda hollow
