such an incredible feat of mapping. introduces a fun and surprising set of gimmicks that stand out among other aspire maps simply for actually being playable. could've used another round of modding to iron out notelock issues, but i am probably the only player who cares.

i dont think this really counts as a map but its one of the highest effort maps in the game. love everything about it. 4.5-5 IMO

@kondou @mismagius i think what ppl mean when they say it's "not a map" is that where it fails in areas like cohesion and difficulty balancing, it makes up for in being a showcase of cool shit fanzhen can do, and in that way it's 1. judged as more of a spectacle than a map and 2. not on the same playing field as the other maps on this site

like i don’t know what to think about this map on a 0-5 rating scale lol. someone in a server i’m in brought up a good point that the reason the score is so high is because there are two types of people who see this: people who don’t know how to rate it and people who give it a 5, and i think i like that take

@koish check the comment section basically. this site has 2 main groups with this map, people who don't rate it because it's primarily meant to be a showcase and people who rate it a 5 because it's cool. if you judge it by the same metrics that you judge ranked maps then it kinda sucks but without the 0 ratings it would probably be #3 or #4 right now despite being on a different playing field from everything else

also i rated this when the charts were in flux so they were more interesting but now idgaf cuz its just boomer city

like literally this one diff has singlehandedly thwarted my attempt to get a leaderboard score on every single diff and it pisses me off

also lets not forget about the fact that this map was so broken nobody could submit a score on any diff of this after a certain amount of time that it had to be updated and re-loved

except for the charles one that one is just a mid map

i like the concept but it's not really a map it's more like a visualization

so what you're saying is this is the visual novel of mapping

i think some sections are underwhelming and i dont really know how to rate the map as a whole but that section in Earth where all the slider balls come back is one of the greatest moments in any map ever. also shoutout that flamenco/guitar part after that feels as twitchy and uncertain of its own existence as the song does

Without this map existing I dont think I would have really realised how apsire-style maps are on an unfair playing field compared to normal maps due to the immense amount of options for visual flair. So i might have gave this a 5 if it was worse LOL

the new diffcalc updates have given this map mystical and radioactive properties on osu!stable

- just having this map downloaded can cause all newly-downloaded maps to never compute their difficulty and display as 0* forever
- for a couple versions your game would crash from a memory leak after 20-30 seconds of gameplay if you had this map downloaded. even if you were playing a different song

i remember its also caused problems with lazer import in the past. it's probably the non-graved set responsible for causing the most problems

thinking about how this getting 2nd to the other map is like lana losing to taylor at the 2024 grammys

def the best map on the game, not many ppl could come up with a map like this, it uses the fact its an aspire map to a rlly good use, even if its just common slider distorsion, and on paper, nothing new, it uses them in a way that isnt just to show off glitches, but to represent the song like no other map can.
