true of almost every medium with the only difference being that you as a consumer will see less of the "failed transmutations" and more of the ambitious and new in those much more well saturated mediums so basically the problem with mapping is a lack of mappers and consequently maps

i never really understood what's the point of mapping same style on same song as an already ranked set

but then someone breaks out of this but then the cycle repeats and each time you get the repeat of the fucking roy mustang scene where he lights the fuck out of envy but its not that hype after the 99th time you have seen it its still pretty cool though cuz roy is the fucking goat but then you see it for the 9999th time and ur like when will this end and then you see this for the 999999th time and you do not possess the faculties to be able to do anything except see the last of your neurotransmitters die by closing your eyes and counting the remaining phosphenes in your vision

i think good maps are a curse to the entire community ebcause eveyrone will want to map like it 10 years later but get absolutely everything wrong about it and then every map stays the same for 20 years because no one cares to do anything more or is ambitious enough to even attempt it and then every 2nd map is a product of a failed human transmutation its like the original full metal alchemist really just really sad to see
