crazy to think rrtyui's map got absolutely fucking bombed in terms of rating by the pdc judges, didn't even reach top 10

clearly it just wasn’t good enough. maybe “Rrtyui” should take “Inspiration” from more accomplished mappers.

it's probably lame to self-critique or whatever but this is possibly my 2nd least favorite map of mine lol. how does a pastiche of a map from nine years ago simultaneously play it too safe AND have luck-based patterns (00:18:243 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3) - )

interesting. thank you! As for something about rrtyui's map. I never really liked the kiai. I understand in practice what its doing and it should be really good but playing it always just felt so unsatisfying to have the general intensity be so low

similar thing happened with Shuu no Hazama in pdc2020, i have no idea where he placed because the only existing results i could find don't mention him at all. radio silence on (IN MY OPINION) one of the best maps ever is baffling

intense while showing great restraint without overdoing anything. he makes it look too easy

i dont really remember super well but shuu no hazama placed like 7th or something? and i believe skystar gave it a decent score but also gave a judge impression rating of 10/10.

rrtyui's chirality placed relatively low for "playability issues" iirc

comments for shuu no hazama essentially amounted to "there is some cool stuff in here too bad it doesnt play well"

and i recall comment(s?) for chirality saying stuff like "this might have done well in other contests like aspire but this contest is for ranked." at the time they'd rank the winning entries for each song in one big set
