The diff spike is based and awesome as fuck, actually. Highlights the most hype part of the song with a masterclass in movement and emphasis without overdoing it. Best UC map, without a doubt. Also shoutout Aeril's diff it's pretty good too.
Map so good it makes you enjoy the song. Probably one of the most powerful things a map can do. Still visually brilliant, but the gameplay is almost unmatched in conveying what a song is doing and making the player capitulate to the song's command. Like reverse conducting, or something. It's just fucking awesome.
This is the RLC map that convinced me he was a genius. He mapped this in 2013. The patterns ebb and flow through each other, coalescing as one magnificent tapestry. Absolutely phenomenal.
This map is like an ex girlfriend I should have fallen out of love with 5 years ago but I still think about her. The only thing powering my love is nostalgia. I still love you, BoxPlot - Tramontane [Impression From a Deep Breath]. Call me back some day.
You know that junji ito comic about holes in the hill being made for people? The Fsjallink diff is my hole. This will be the last map I play before I die.
I didn't recognize this map's brilliance until almost the middle of last year, and it's probably the stupidest I have ever felt about an opinion I had about a map before that. How? How did I not see the light in front of me? Rest in peace, Eiji.
fucking awesome. near flawless execution all around, delivers on a monster of a song. as close to perfect can be to me without being it, but it'd be tough for me to find a flaw in this map.
Wanted to write an actual review for this map because it's got a lot of interesting ideas and I want to talk about them. (and also barely anyone actually does reviews on this site)
For the record, I do not intend to fan any additional flames of hatred or intend to offend anyone or challenge others' perspective/opinions on the map, I am only here to offer my own.
This map embraces the freeform style wafer has used for a decent amount of time and is most probably well known from his dariacore maps. While I personally don't enjoy those maps, it's interesting to see this style applied to a more traditionally structured song.
I actually really like certain ideas within this map, like the use of doubles during the first two choruses, which might be the first real use of them as more than additional tapping strain that I've seen in a map (the progression from circle-slider to circle-circle is also cool).
The use of blank space during the kiai section after the 1st chorus to let the player breathe and emphasize the vocals indirectly is pretty cool too. I just wish these kinds of ideas were more prevalent during the rest of the map.
I highly disagree with the usage of additive rhythm and general emphasis in the last quarter of the map. Not only does the massive difficulty spike of the ending make the previous section which is almost just as intense (04:31:953 - 04:48:998) feel extremely weak in comparison, it creates a poor gameplay experience where if your objective as a player is to Do Well on the Map you have to play through the rest of the map to get to the part that determines your outcome the most. I understand that the map wasn't specifically designed to cater to that mindset, but it still affects the playing experience to me.
I understand the purpose of using additive rhythm and having such a drastic diffspike at the end, you want the map to conclude as the song does, with it's most powerful moments being at the end. I think this effect could have been achieved without the extreme measures the map takes in its current form, and reduce the player whiplash that taints the experience for me.
As an entire experience, the storyboard is nice, and the song is amazing, but unfortunately I didn't enjoy the final product. There are a few other nitpicks I have with the map I could mention, but that just feels lame.
do you have any any examples of maps that have good emotional representation because i have No idea how i would do that

the most damning thing about this map is that 4 months later i literally dont remember what it looks like

Combines unmatched rhythmic talent with excellent visual design so well it's hard to focus on both at the same time.

Masterfully toes the line between giving in to chaos and restraint to create some of the most fun gameplay I've had the pleasure of enjoying.

so sentimental, so wistful in its presentation yet expertly crafted. pishi's most beautiful map, emotionally and literally.

This map was a divine message from god telling all mortals to stop mapping dnb because it had been perfected.
One of the best jump/aim maps of all time. Pure fun machine. Also actually follows the song!
