I think Extra!! is a little bit better overall since the verse is mapped in a more interesting way, Phantasm sometimes feels like it's standing around awkwardly until an excuse to dump a `lol linear flow triplets` pattern on you.
But man i keep coming back to this map, it's weirdly compelling, probably the map i think about the most
Good evening, "Unbreakable (Sped Up & Cut Ver.)" was a 24 month sociological study conducted by Harvard University. We are now complete with our study. Thank you for your time.
i dont know what yall are waffling about with "if the map is 3* it has to be boring as fuck", new players deserve more interesting types of difficulty too. Take it up with the star difficulty system not considering visual density, not the map, if anything
i disagree wrt the antijump placements (i think they work really well) but yeah it does feel a little bit samey & i think lecandy's diff was better paced.
but otoh the patterning is really fucking Good and i don't wanna fault it too much for not switching away from patterns that i like a lot :O
still one of my favorite storyboards (although i think the awkward "mapped by:" "song by:" stuff used as filler doesn't help). being able to leave the damn thing on while playing b/c it's decently well optimized & not too flashy, is nice too
the map is pretty good, i think they did the best they could with how repetitive the song is
honestly i've yet to find one of these mapsets where it doesn't feel like there are better 8* maps hiding inside all the top diffs. like the mappers made something decent but it didn't reach their star-rating target, so they spent time turbobuffing random shit until it did
-i know it's basic but its somehow rly satisfying to click on a blue object and have the video change to a blue background
-the Hard kinda spicy honestly
this fucking set is such an anomaly. the way [Nogard] has the hardest part wayyyy at the front & the super random heart-shaped pattern & the way the sliders in the drain section seem to have grown an extra slidertick (& the way a picture of that part used to be on the osu! wiki for "drain section") & whatever the fuck was being cooked at 03:11:507. and then the Lesjuh style is like, the prototypical lesjuh style, mapped completely identically to the other 20 extant lesjuh diffs and literally nothing about it sticks out. i wouldn't change a thing about this mapset. the hitsounding is so overthought and the background almost looks like it has a watermark on it. its perfect
ya this goes. ending sliders are a little basic (the remap handles them better i think) but the rest is rly good, kind of love the rushed feeling these 0.8x-distance-snap slider patterns give
Man i wish there were more UC + Cheri collabs
