I think another thing that contributes to the weird difficulty progression is the song order itself. Most older comps had some semblance of ascending BPM order and while yea I guess u dont want the hard part to be at the end of a 30 minute map I like being eased into the first 20-25 minutes or whatnot rather than being jumpscared every few songs (obviously jumpin jack flash ending is awesome so i dont mind that)

would've been rly cool imo if the mapping style was themed like the other cool elite beat agents maps (don't stop me now, jumpin' Jack Flash, ect...)

i'm not sure if this counts as a proper review, it's mostly a collection of thoughts that came up while playing the map, hopefully this comes out as something that isn't just completely rambling

- this inspired me to make my own version of this with the original mp3s until i realized how anticlimatic the jumpin' jack flash ending would be as the EBA cover is significantly more upbeat than the original lmao

- the lack of breaks between songs sometimes makes it quite odd to play through, the 3-4 seconds of fade in/out is just offputting tbh

- i've been told that the map was underwhelming because it wasn't mapped in iNiStyle but i gotta disagree with that. i think the mapping style is definitely not anything stellar in a technical sense but if i wanted to play the originals i would just... play the originals. maybe if it mixed symmetry and structure with a more modern style a la D33d's maps then it could be fun, but i don't think there's anything inherently wrong with how the map is made. kinda didn't really feel the hitsounds though, the EBA skin ones would've been more interesting imo

- following the previous point: however what kinda left to be desired was the progression of the difficulty imo, it feels like you held back in following some of the more intense songs because of wanting to keep a more even difficulty spread but at the same time the ending still feels a bit overdone (the anthem just kicked my ass on my playthrough, partly my fault because i was holding 5k combo but still). i feel like you could've gone off more in some of the songs like Highway Star, Survivor and even Makes no Difference.

- you really did not have to map You're the Inspiration entirely lol, especially if you're not gonna do anything too special with it. i get that it's one of the most iconic parts of the game but it kinda overstays its welcome here

- 06:35:401 (1,2,3,4,5) - this is straight up evil on a swing song lol

- 06:45:695 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1,2,3,1,2) - tapx players throughout the world (probably like 3 of them left atp anyway) screaming at this

- 23:06:511 (3,4,1,2,3,4,5,6) - you did NOT have to follow the vocals here bro

in the end this is a fairly competent map and it's a good trip back to what brought me into osu! nearly 20 years ago. if you ever do an OTO2 one (because I think there's quite a lot of potential in that) then I hope you can take these into consideration!
