not nearly manic enough of a style for this kind of song which does upset me a little bit but the song IS quite good and the map is not unfun generally
i disagree with myself from 2y ago to some extent but i still hold a soft spot for this map regardless. i fuck w what it's trying to do even if theres a biit of clumsiness in parts in retrospect
has things to like for sure (very strong visual design elements for one) but really suffers when it comes to identifying intentionality within it, which, like, tbh... *is* a persistent issue of this style to me broadly (this map does sort of exemplify it well, though).
it's very difficult for one of these kinds of maps to feel as though they aren't "going through the motions" in a sense, interpreting the music in a particularly wide lens that translates to a callousness about the micro-level representations within the map. it isn't particularly evocative for very long, and the ideas that start the map strong have a tendency of way overstaying their welcome.
tldr:
• visually? quite pretty!
• choreographically? nothing to write home about, really (it feels as though its an afterthought if it even cleared that bar).
• representationally? it's about the same as every other map in this style (i suppose it depends on your view on the style itself, right?)
its not bad but its one of the weaker of their maps In my h opinion. which is saying a lot bc this is one of the best attempts at mapping house music i've seen in this game 😭
what expressiveness this map does display in the form of interpretive rhythm is mostly tarnished by a lack of interesting choreographic elements/experience and a lack of restraint wrt the execution of prior ideas on th part of the mapper. it kind of falls flat to me because of that

uber ex is so good. very fun to play and it reflects the lighthearted whimsy of the song's instrumentation i quite i enjoy it.
kind of just a sauceless version of smth like tree frog / a vaguely-rustbell-shaped pastiche, but it comes out alright
