ending is so raw

lmfao man these picks are actually sending me

lol I clicked it once and got cigarettes in the theatre wtf

patterns i like, but overall the movement felt idk kind of clunky. also just kind of song nerfed i didn't like listening to it and it leads to 70% downtime LOL

lowkey only ever played this map once because it was in NAT but the slider jumps in the final kiai are one of the patterns I think about most in this game

lia you are awesome

I like all the bouts of circular flowy symmetry building up to kiais. all the circular flow in general is cute

azure destiny but lfj wouldn't rank a map if his life depended on it

2/3 of my owc25 faves are ranked lovely

love luminousorange. those stacks were definitely a highlight

hahaha i think i just had owc tiebreakers on the mind

though there is something to be said about how sensibilities have changed since 2019, it was only a couple years removed from tengaku after all. pooling has evolved radically since then for better and for worse and there are certainly things that would have flown then and not now (idk if the triangle is one of those things though)

01:24:021 (1) - this slider changed the game

tactless feels like the best word to describe it and it's why the pug theory (negative correlation between diffname length and map quality) holds...

really pleasant vibes

it's kind of the best difficulty name in the game

oh I never rated this one

I only played this after yf's ranked and realized like every idea in that comes from this lmao

bg + song combo is bringing me so much joy

we got strict tracking at home

and tbh the insane tickrate kinda gives sliders their own hitsounding it's cute

I mean it's definitely true that most or all customs are made worse by being in tournaments (even the maps i really like), just cuz there's specific restraints necessary for balanced play

probably most impactful is the tendency against difficulty spikes in favor of a flatter difficulty curve -- if you've ever played a super diffspikey map in a tournament match you know this is for the better in terms of competition, but it also completely neuters the contrast and the map is less engaging for it

in this case it's the reason the whole map feels super... idk muddy or messy to me, when every part of the map has to go hard and nothing can stand out too much you lose the space for moments like the gens darmes tornado stream or whatever. though tbh diffspikes are more acceptable when even the easy parts will see lots of breaks lol

it's a weird case where the map could benefit from more restraint across the board (rhythm and stylistic choices) but also could use less restraint so the most impactful bits are actually impactful. i guess a better distribution of it, or something

most of these criticisms can be levied against beomsan kegare but I can actually play that map instead of just looking at it in the editor and I think it's fun soooooooo

didn't feel that impressed on first playthru but found myself thinking about this quite a lot for a couple weeks afterward, it definitely left an impression

anyway a cheat code to have fun is to type "creator=tsuka" and then turn on the HR mod

actually the velocity control goes hard asf

this map was like top 10 hardest maps in the game when i started and it had such an unexplainable aura to me. still such a sick map i miss when 7 stars felt like this

modern tournaments wouldn't pool anything interesting for hd2 in the first place

insane bg progression on this one
