trying to stay impartial bcz i think its super cringe to write off a new map of a song that alr has a famous map but err this is not it for me.

the most intense part of the song 00:55:667 is mapped like legit the same intensity as 00:10:014 here apart from when it diffspikes like crazy 01:07:406 (1,2,3,4,1,2,1,2,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1). speaking of 00:10:014 its also practically the same intensity as 00:20:884 if not even harder bcz ur forced to follow the long sliders 00:07:406 (1) 00:08:275 (1) 00:10:014 (1) bcz of slider tickrate 4 whilst all these 00:21:101 (2) - hook sliders whilst cool visual contrast are super cheesable u can just tap them. 00:50:884 (3) - why introduce 1 off notch hell slider thats like impossible to sightread theres nothing else in the map that has this kinda reading requirment. 00:51:971 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,1) - this movement idea is cool but its just repeating so its not building up very well.

Also in the intro section its copying the thing in hw odoru but theres normal/high spacing between 00:00:667 (1,1), 00:02:406 (1,1), 00:04:145 (1,1) rather low spacing making it less of a start/stop. also 00:06:101 (4,1,1) - this is super weak cus they just flow into eachother. 00:13:058 (1,2,1,2,1) this idea with the 1/8 gap is a cool idea idk if i really fw it tho. 00:18:167 (2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,3) - this seems super underwhelming when its the climax of the section. in the chorus im also rly confused on what is trying to be emphasized, 00:56:754 (1,2,1) this sequence places emphasis on 00:57:406 but later there is no emphasis placed on that part of the song 01:00:449 (3,1,2) and later again 01:04:797 (1,2) - its like somewhat emphasized? i feel like theres just something missing here. the whole map in general does feel quite dumb downed these 2 sections 00:00:015 00:34:797 r the only sections that actually feel as though they have their own unique feel whilst everything else is like the same thing.

im going to talk about the hw map for a bit now because it seems quite obvious that that map was inspiring this - this is not to say the hw wings map is the only correct interpretation just to highlight why I like that map so much compared to this. the main thing is the sectional contrast being way more apparant with the intro 00:00:015 using these sharp piercing movements 00:02:188 (2,1,1,2,1,2,3,1) this then totally changes into here 00:06:971 where it changes to sliders and in particular these repeats 00:07:841 (5) with the 1/1 gaps following as the focus and then afterwards 00:20:884 here when theres more layers the repeat sliders and 1/1 gaps are ditched and now there are wide angle jumps 00:21:101 (2,3) 00:22:840 (2,3) to take the spotlight highlighting the drums and then 00:34:797 at this interlude phase its back to repeats and rhythm gaps but doubled down and more emphasis on the drums intereweaving.

onto the kiai 00:55:667 you can see its radically different with its totally different rhythm structure and movement. the combination of which creates these start-stop movements similar to in the intro of the map, a totally different texture than from 00:06:971 - 00:48:710. and this big change is transitioned into more smoothly with the 00:48:710 interlude (which i left for last on purpose because it makes more sense already having discussed the kiai) which drops the sliders and then starts introducing the sharp movements in little snippets 00:51:971 (10,11,1,2,3) 00:52:732 (1,2,3,1,2) 00:53:602 (1,2,3,1,2) i could be reading too hard into this one but i think its a cool feature which makes the transition into the kiai more fluid.

ok i have like so much to say more to abt hw odoru but ill stop im realising that ive talked more about it then this map the one im actually reviewing. um sorry i just happen to be a very big fan of that map
